Robert Hanka

Chief Corporate Officer

Robert obtained a Masters Degree in Law at University of Cambridge and brings a wealth of international experience as a lawyer and investment banker to his role at Sisban. He worked at international law firm Simmons & Simmons in London and Hong Kong for ten years, specialising in corporate and commercial transactions, before switching career and becoming Head of Mergers & Acquisitions at CLSA Emerging Markets (now part of Calyon bank). Over eight years Robert ran their M&A advisory business across 14 countries in Asia, during which time he and his team originated and executed dozens of transactions with a total value of over USD 3 billion. These included some of the region’s most high profile deals, such as the hostile takeover of Harbin in China, which was voted Asian cross-border deal of the year in 2004.

Robert moved to Saudi Arabia in 2007 as Head of Corporate Finance at Al Rajhi Capital, where he spent three years spearheading its entrance into the kingdom’s investment banking sector and was involved in multiple IPOs and rights issues. After two years in a brief spell as Head of Investment Banking at Barwa Bank in Qatar, Robert returned to Saudi Arabia as Head of Business Development with Dhabaan & Partners for Commercial Business, before joining SISBAN in 2016.

In his role at Sisban, Robert draws on his extensive global experience in cross border M&A, joint ventures, fundraisings, private equity and capital markets. Coupled with his experience of law, corporate governance and business development, Robert is responsible for all of Sisban’s corporate affairs and also ensures that all our transactions are executed according to international best practices.
